Here are some of the list of wool fabrics and weaves that you may find useful whenever you decide which cloth is to be used for you custom made shirts or dress.
Homespun this hand woven sturdy wool is loose with a rough or coarse surface.
Linsey-woolsey is a coarse or rough fabric that was first made in Lindsey, England.
Loden fabric is a thick, soft, waterproof, windproof wool which is used in outerwear that has a green color.
Mackinaw fabric is a heavy double woolen fabric in striking colored patterns.
Melton, a heavy, tick, napped fabric which has no finish press or gloss.
Merino wool is soft, light weight and luxurious fabric which is commonly used for custom made shirts because of its high-end quality.
Oatmeal Cloth is durable yet soft wool with a pebbled or rock face.
Panama Cloth is plain closely-woven worsted wool with a stiff cloth, sometimes resembling the texture of Panama hat. It can also be used for women’s and children’s dress, mens shirt, aprons, and suits.
Peters ham, is a very thick, waterproof woolen coating, which is usually in dark blue. This is often used for men’s trousers or heavy coats.
Pilot Cloth is a coarse, heavy, stout twilled woolen blue cloth that is heavily napped. This is usually used as overcoats by seamen.
Poodle Cloth is made with an uneven yarn and closely resembles the Poodle dog.
Rabbit Hair fabric has a soft effect which is used to be a substitute for vicuna.
Sharkskin is the filling yarns of alternating black, blue, or brown with a smooth crisp fabric woven with a warp.
Tartan is originally Scottish twilled crisscross plaid design.
Tweed is blue rough textured wool, originally homespun and slightly felted. This fabric is sturdy with a mottled color.
